Our Team

Robert Blakely

Robert founded Blakely Financial, Inc., in 1995. Believing that no one is more important than our clients, Robert focuses on comprehensive wealth planning that help meet the clients' individual needs. This is accomplished through a very personal relationship, involving understanding clients' unique goals and implementing a thorough plan to help clients achieve those goals.

Robert graduated from Averett College in Danville, Virginia, with a bachelor's in business administration. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and continues his education through numerous seminars and conferences.

Robert is an active volunteer with various charitable and educational organizations in our community and resides in Thomasville with his wife, Donna.

Steve LaFrance

Steve joined Blakely Financial, Inc., in early 2009. He previously worked for a global wealth management firm headquartered in Switzerland. Steve has partnered with Robert Blakely to help meet the financial planning needs of professionals, business owners, and retirees. Steve is a 1998 graduate of North Carolina State University and later completed his MBA at Wake Forest University in 2005. 

Steve's mission is to provide quality strategies customized to your needs. His goal is to be your primary source of financial advice. To this end, he concentrates his efforts on developing long-term relationships through a commitment to quality client service. You can expect a high level of service and an ongoing dialogue, including regular portfolio reviews and performance analysis.

Steve is very active in the Triad community and resides in Greensboro with his wife, Emily, and two sons.

Will Armfield

Will joined Blakely Financial, Inc., in June 2014. He previously worked for a large broker/dealer firm headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. Will serves individuals, families, and business owners through comprehensive wealth planning. By understanding clients’ goals, assessing risk tolerance, and implementing a thorough financial plan, he strives to help clients reach their financial goals and have confidence about their investments. 

Will grew up in High Point and graduated from Wesleyan Christian Academy. He then attended NC State University before transferring to High Point University, where he graduated with a BS in finance. Having started in the industry in 2008 and experiencing some of the toughest market environments with clients, Will brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to serve his clients' best interests.

Will is very active in the High Point community, where he lives with his wife, Katelyn. Will and Katelyn are members of High Point Country Club, where Will is an avid golfer. Will is active in the Panther Club at High Point University, where he serves on the club's board of directors in support of High Point University Athletics. He is also active with the Wolfpack Club at NC State University.

Emily Promise APMA ®, CRPC®

Financial Advisor

Emily joined Blakely Financial, Inc. in 2017 and comes to us as a full-time finance major at High Point University. She is an integral part of our team as she works with Rob, Steve and Will on financial planning and investment research.

Emily currently holds her Series 7 securities registration and the Accredited Portfolio Management Advisor℠ or APMA®. The APMA® is a professional designation program designed to educate advisors on portfolio creation, augmentation and maintenance. 

Our team at Blakely Financial is proud of her accomplishments as she previously completed internships with the Massachusetts State Treasury, Commonwealth Financial Network® and Goldman Sachs.

Emily's impressive work ethic, tenacity and vision bring much to Blakely Financial and we are proud to have her as part of our team.

Susan Moore FPQP

Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional

Susan joined Blakely Financial, Inc., in November 2005 as an administrative assistant. Since that time, Susan has grown in her responsibilities as she strives to make every interaction with our office extraordinary.

Susan is responsible for client administrative matters; she oversees daily office affairs and ensures that all facets of client paperwork and database management are handled properly. In early 2016, Susan successfully completed the Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional designation program from the College for Financial Planning. She spent six months taking a very rigorous curriculum in the financial planning process, the time value of money, and retirement planning. Susan is also a notary public.

Susan resides in High Point with her husband and two daughters. She is active in her church Sunday School group. In addition to spending time with her family, Susan enjoys traveling and taking long walks with her dog, Tucker.

Donna Blakely AAMS®, MBA

Director of Marketing & Client Relations

Donna is a 1989 graduate of Appalachian State University and a 1995 MBA graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is currently a broker's administrative assistant with Blakely Financial and is responsible for marketing and client relations. In August of 2018, Donna earned her AAMS® (Accredited Asset Management Specialist℠) designation, which furthered her knowledge and understanding of the industry.

Prior to working with Blakely Financial, Inc., Donna was a pharmaceutical sales representative with GlaxoSmithKline. She then became co-owner and general manager of the J.H. Adams Inn. With the experience gained in these service positions, Donna believes that no one is more important than the customer, and her goal with Blakely Financial is to help us meet the needs of all of our clients through personalized attention and service.

Donna is active with Communities in Schools of Thomasville and a member of the Junior League of High Point. Besides her volunteer activities, Donna enjoys cooking and attempting to play golf.

Chevis Trotter

Administrative Assistant

Chevis joined Blakely Financial, Inc. in December 2017. Chevis will often be the first voice you hear when you call our office. She will schedule appointments and assist our team in daily office operations including client paperwork and database management.

Chevis graduated from Randolph County Community College in 2017.

Chevis grew up in Archdale and currently resides in Sophia. She is the proud mom of sweet 4 year old Eli. She enjoys spending time with Scott & Eli, cooking and yoga.

Ashley Hancock

Client Services Assistant

Ashley joined our team in March of 2018. She brings strong customer service and attention to detail from her previous jobs and believes nothing is more important than a satisfied client. Ashley will assist the team in daily office operations including client paperwork, appointments and miscellaneous requests. 

Ashley graduated from Randolph County Community College in 2018. 

She resides in Greensboro with her husband, Daniel and their furry four-legged children.  Ashley enjoys playing softball and singing in her church's praise team.
